When I feel comfortable where I’m at, I’m like an open book, and I’m able to be 100% myself. But a lot of times, you don’t ever really get to that point unless you put yourself in situations/opportunities that is outside your comfort zone. For me, being in the city and working in a very different environment was hard. Definitely something I had to really work at and adjust to, not to say I ever quite adjusted, but I grew as an individual and as a barber.

I can confidently say that if it wasn’t for my time at Barbetorium in the city, I would never be able to go off on my own. I wouldn’t know the first thing of running a business, or how to create an experience for your clients. Those things never crossed my mind while I was in barber school, it’s by going through the experience do you find what works and what you can bring with you when you go off on your own. My shop was created in mind of how I would like to walk into a shop and feel right at home. The little things that go on during a haircut, are all intended to make your experience as a client that much better, so you not only feel welcome but like a friend.

There are a few people in this industry that I admire and look up to, and they know who they are. Its because of what I’ve picked up from them, that I’m here right now doing what I love, in the town I was raised, giving my clients and friends the best damn service I can!
